Special initiatives

Since 1951, meetings between Nobel Laureates and young researchers have been held in Lindau. During an intensive week, participants discuss research and science and establish new contacts with colleagues from around the world. Around 600 early-career researchers have the opportunity to meet and interact with, among others, some 30 Nobel Laureates. The fields vary from year to year. This summer, a meeting for researchers in chemistry will first be held in June, followed by a meeting for researchers in economic sciences in August. Twelve outstanding early-career researchers have been selected to participate in this year’s Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings.

The following participants will attend the 74th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Chemistry:

  • Vladana Susic, Stockholm University
  • Ajeet Kumar, Lund University
  • Erica Colaprico, Linköping University
  • Igor Becker, AstraZeneca
  • Julia Valderas, Lund University
  • Katarina Novčić, KTH Royal Institute of Technology
  • Sayad Doobary, Stockholm University

The following participants will attend the 8th Lindau Nobel Meeting on Economic Sciences:

  • Marek Chadim, Stockholm University
  • Leopold Lazcano, Stockholm University
  • Hugo Morgado, Lund University
  • Chloe Nibourel, Stockholm University
  • Yun Xiao, University of Gothenburg

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, together with Ragnar Söderberg foundation, nominates young students, doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers, aged 35 or younger, for the opportunity to attend the meetings in Lindau. The final selection is made by the Lindau Review Panel. Ragnar Söderberg foundation also provides funding for the Swedish participants.

“Attending the Lindau Meeting is a unique opportunity for early-career researchers to discuss groundbreaking research, build international networks and, of course, meet Nobel Laureates. We are delighted to be able to give twelve researchers this opportunity again this year.”

says Anna Wetterbom, CEO of The Ragnar Söderberg Foundation
