After several successful years of postdoctoral research in the United States, resulting in numerous publications in Nature, Johansson recently returned to the University of Gothenburg to continue his research career.
Johansson’s research focuses on developing groundbreaking microscopy techniques to study, at the molecular level, how receptors for the hormone melatonin interact in the brain. In the longer term, this research could contribute to the development of more effective treatments and medicines with fewer side effects for conditions such as difficulty falling asleep and type 2 diabetes.
Linda Johansson was awarded a Swedish Foundations Starting Grant (SFSG) 2020.
