Project summary

Competing labour market organisations – A comparative project on the representativeness of the social partners in the Nordic countries

Caroline Johansson examines how well Swedish labour law functions in sectors where labour market organisations compete for representation, as illustrated by the widely publicised dispute between two trade unions at the Port of Gothenburg. How can problems arising from such competition be resolved when there are no statutory rules determining which organisation represents particular occupational groups or sectors?
