Policy on Indirect Costs and Direct Premises Costs

Do not include indirect costs or direct premises costs in your application. These costs are calculated by the foundation based on the information provided in the application and are covered as described below.

For project grants in all scientific subject areas, funding is provided for salaries and associated payroll costs. In addition, the following are provided:

• a standard allowance for direct premises costs of SEK 50,000 per year for each researcher working 100 per cent on the project;
• a standard allowance for indirect costs of SEK 80,000 per year for each researcher working 100 per cent on the project.

 

The amounts are adjusted according to the percentage of working time devoted to the project. For professors whose positions include a substantial proportion of research time, these allowances may be reduced. Any additional indirect costs must be co-funded by the university.

 

The two allowances may be used flexibly for either purpose. For example, the entire allowance for direct premises costs may be used to cover indirect costs if premises are funded from another source.
